Sandblasting

Also called "Media Blasting"

"Abrasive blasting is the operation of forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under high pressure to smooth a rough surface, roughen a smooth surface, shape a surface, or remove surface contaminants." ~ Wikipedia

Different surfaces require a wide-range of media be used to most effectively remove the coatings; whether it is paint, stain or other finishes. Fine sand is a staple of media blasting applications and widely used by professionals.  We have the capability to use all common blasting media to remove virtually any applied coating including powder coating, which is one of the most difficult things to remove.

Sandblasting Wood Homes

Flathead Dustless Blasting specializes in surface preparation for log homes. In our area of northwest Montana, our brutal winters play havoc with wood. Extreme temperatures, snow, ice and a blazing sun will degrade and destroy any surface application so that regular maintenance is required to keep the building looking presentable.

At some point, preventive maintenance is no longer sufficient and the building will need to be blasted down to bare wood. As a result, we work with many log home builders and home owners. If you want your log home to look like it did when it was first built, call us for a free estimate.
